So it’s finally official. Codename Android (CNA), an open source Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 based custom ROM is now officially supported for the Samsung Vibrant. CNA focuses on speed, usability and putting in a lot of customization and tweakable settings, for a great user experience. Only unofficial ports of CNA ROM were available for the Vibrant up until now, but now users can get the official version with regular updates.
The ROM is a beta version and in the nightlies stage, where a new update of the ROM comes out every 24 hours (ideally), bringing all the changes made to the ROM by the developers in those 24 hours. This lets you get updates on a regular basis. However, due to the beta/nightly status of the ROM, bugs and issues are to be expected and new bugs can also crop up from time to time.
Let’s get on with the flashing procedure and see how Codename Android ROM can be flashed on your Samsung Vibrant.
Compatibility
This ROM and the guide below are compatible only and only with the Samsung Vibrant, model number T959. It’s not compatible with any other device. Check your device model in Settings » About.
Warning!
The methods and procedures discussed here are considered risky and you should not attempt anything if you don’t know exactly what you are doing. If any damage occurs to you or your device, including a bricked, non-functional device, we won’t be held liable. You have been forewarned!
