Verizon is currently rolling out new software updates for a bunch of Samsung Galaxy devices, and the LG G5. The Samsung devices getting the new update includes the Galaxy S8/S8+, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and the S6 Edge+.
If you’ve got any of the above mentioned Samsung smartphones or the LG G5, then you should receive the update notification very soon. All the Samsung devices are receiving the December Android security update, whereas the LG G5 gets the November patch.
The software build number for the Galaxy Note 5 is N920VVRU3CQL4, for the Note8 it’s N950USQS2BQL5, for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ it’s G950USQS2BQL1 and G955USQS2BQL1, respectively. For the Galaxy S6 Edge it is G925VVRU4DQL1 and finally, for the S6 Edge Plus, it is G928VVRU3CQL4. The LG G5 update build number is VS9872CA.
That’s about all there is in the new software updates issued by Verizon. The updates will also include bug fixes and system stability improvements. It is recommended that you install the update as soon as you get it. Make sure your device has more than 50 percent battery and is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.
