Samsung to Launch Galaxy S in Korea with SK Telecom on Friday, June 25

Sales Girl shows Samsung Galaxy S

After launching the Galaxy S in India, Samsung is all set to roll the phone out in Korea, too. The device is already running late there from its promised mid-June release, but this time, we have a sure date. Mark the coming Friday, 25th June, on your calendar to grab you best android bet and avoid any ‘sold out’ situations, which have become a sort of fashion with android super-phones.

SK Telecom, Korea’s largest mobile carrier will be selling the phone both online and at stores, as reported by koreaittimes. it will be available with 2 year contract at the price of KRW 295,000. Only few days back, SK Telecom’s rival and the second largest carrier in Korea, KT, launched Nexus One in Korea for KRW 699,600 without contract, which came pre-installed with Android version 2.2, Froyo. Now, with the launch of Samsung Galaxy S in Korea, the country will have two hot android phones as their options. And unless your are haunted by Droid X in dreams, the Galaxy S seems your best bet.

A brief spec-sheet of Galaxy S here should do fine. It’s a 4inch phone with Super AMOLED screen powered by 1Ghz processor beast and runs on android 2.1. Add to that 16GB internal memory, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G to complete the package.

Samsung Galaxy S

That apart, Samsung has got some big plans too. It plans to sell around 1 million Galaxy S month by month to expand its footage in smartphones where it ranks fifth as against its overall second position in cellphones.

So, do you think you finally got your favorite phone in Korea? Say it in comments.
