If we can all agree on one thing unanimously, it has to be the fact that Samsung manufactures the best OLED display panels for smartphones. Period.
Now, it’s only obvious for other companies to strike a deal with the South Korean giant in order to use its panels on their smartphones. Even Apple is reported to have ordered OLED panels from Samsung for the iPhone 8.
It seems like Samsung is receiving colossal amounts of orders for its panels. The company is reportedly setting up a new factory in South Korea to manufacture flexible OLED panels for smartphones with the production to begin sometime in the second half of next year, i.e., 2018.

Dubbed as A4, the plant will reportedly produce up to 800 million flexible OLED panels for smartphone-use on a yearly basis.
Currently, Samsung manufactures the OLED panels at its A3 Plant in South Korea. It manages to produce around 105,000 6G glass substrates monthly with the production capacity to reach as high as 165,000 substrates by the end of 2018.
In addition, to keep up with the demand, the company is also converting a 7.5G TFT-LCD factory, L7-1 to produce OLED panels for smartphone usage. The production is expected to begin in Q3 of 2017.
