Samsung is getting all ready to launch the SCH-W2013, a dual screen flip-phone powered by a quad-core processor, in China this year, a device we recently stumbled across passing certification. The device is a successor to the SCH-W999, another clamshell phone that launched in the country last year, and was introduced by none other than Jackie Chan himself.
Produced in conjunction with a charity concert, the SCH-W2013 sports dual 3.7″ WVGA Super AMOLED displays and a lot of power packed under the hood, including a quad-core 1.4GHz Exynos 4412 processor and 2GB RAM, proving that you don’t need to make a super sized phone to give it beastly processing power.
Other features of the device include an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.9 megapixel one on the front, 16GB storage and a microSD slot, an 1850 mAh battery, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, making most of the specs exactly similar to the Galaxy S3 except for the lower capacity battery, which should be enough for the modest display resolution. There are also dual SIM slots, one for CDMA2000 800/1900 and the other for GSM 900/1800/1900 networks.
The SCH-W2013 is expected to be available only in China on carrier China Telecom, and is also expected to carry a hefty price tag, somewhere between ¥18,000 ($2,900 USD) and ¥20,000 ($3,210 USD), making it one of those phones only a few people with a big bank balance will buy.
