This is the story of foes turned friends. Old time rivals, Samsung and LG, are looking at a partnership with talks going on between the two companies’ top executives for ‘long-term and positive results.’

The need for extending their hands for a shake arose when Samsung found itself in a dicey situation after Sharp notified Samsung that it would reduce its supply of liquid-crystal display panels for TVs by half. This left the South Korean company looking for alternatives and led it to its rival LG’s door.

Both the companies have even announced that they have dropped all patent-infringement litigation against each other.

Other than the display units, Samsung is also mulling to use batteries from LG Chem for Galaxy S8. No formal tie-up has reached as yet, but given the circumstances and ongoing processes, we should hopefully soon see the happy ending of foes turned friends story.
