Samsung has decided to put all info, and progress, as regards official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its flagship (and like) android phones in US – those launched at Verizon Wireless, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T and US Cellular – in one page, here. Out of the 8 devices Samsung listed there at total 5 carriers, 3 have been already updated to Jelly Bean, which does makes this page looks a little bit good. But, ironically, those 3 devices are Google Nexus ones, for which Google is responsible for updates, and thus the reason those devices stand updated to Android 4.1, without any credits to Samsung.

So, yes, all Samsung unintentionally meant is that none of the 5 devices – that’s Galaxy S3 basically at each carrier – for which the responsibility for Android 4.1 update is upon the company, have actually received the update yet. That said, to Samsung’s credit, it has already updated the international variant of Galaxy S3 (GT-i9300) to Jelly Bean, well before any other OEM released the same update for their respective phone – even HTC is looking to release the Android 4.1 update for its One X and other One series phones, later this month. And given the amount of pain in the neck US carriers are so typically so fond of causing to every OEM ever (or even Google, for that matter), one can hardly blame poor Samsung. And that’s even after Samsung had this to say:

Samsung, Google and the carrier partners are working together to upgrade devices to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as quickly and as smoothly as possible.

But anyway, if you happen to be a Galaxy S3 user at any of the above mentioned carriers, be sure to gawk every once and then at that Official Jelly Bean update page Samsung made for ye.
