The 8-inch and 10.1-inch variants of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 are receiving the PL1 December security patch from Verizon.
The Lollipop based OTA updates with software version LMY47X.T537VVRS2BPL1 for the 10.1-inch variant and software version LMY47X.T337VVRS3BPL1 for the 8-inch variant of the tablet will bring incremental performance and stability improvements, bug fixes and other enhancements over the previous build.
Before updating the device, preferably over WiFi, ensure that the tablet has 50% charge at-least and make sure all important data is backed up.
It’s great to see Samsung and Verizon keeping a tablet, which is more than two years old, up to date. Talking about up to date, if you’re looking to install an Android 7.1.1 based Nougat ROM on your Galaxy Tab, you might wanna check out our Lineage OS download page.
