Samsung has finally lifted the curtains off Galaxy S8 Active, the rugged version of Samsung Galaxy S8. The device has been launched in the US and will go up for pre-order on AT&T starting today while customers can purchase the device offline from store on August 11 in either Meteor Gray or Titanium Gold.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active can be purchased through AT&T by shelling out $28.34 per month by signing up for a 30-month AT&T Next plan. It should also be available for a singular payment of $850.
This latest 5G Evolution capable device ‘is designed with tested durability and strength to address the needs of consumers who need a more rugged device for their lifestyle’. Tim Baxter, President and CEO, Samsung Electronics North America said: We are thrilled to introduce the fifth-generation Galaxy Active, which offers the best of Galaxy features in a tougher package.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Active has a polycarbonate build and comes with IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance and MIL-STD 810G standard for durability. It features 5.8-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top and is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat and packs in 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage further expandable upto 256GB via a microSD card. Other features include a 12MP dual pixel rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera, a 4,000mAh battery and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
