For quite sometime there have been rumors regarding a larger variant of the Galaxy S6 Edge that is alleged to be called Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. A few days back, a leaked image was spotted online and the Korean media sources claimed that a larger device is under development with an August release date.
The most recent rumors point out at a 5.7 inch display including a dual curved edge display as in the Galaxy S6 Edge. Moreover, SamMobile suggests that the handset will ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop preinstalled and that it will arrive in the third quarter of this year.
As we have already seen the newer version of Android running on the Galaxy S6 it is likely that the upcoming Samsung handset will arrive with this iteration.
Now, a new trademark for a Samsung device has been spotted in South Korea pointing to a product called S6 Note. The trademark does not reveal any hardware details of the Note device but it suggests that it will be a larger one. There is an increased possibility for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus to be called the Galaxy S6 Note.
If this turns out to be authentic, the handset could be the Galaxy Note 5 as the S6 Note trademark shows an August or Q3 release date. There is a possibility for a new naming scheme to be followed for the Note lineup of devices.
The rumors have also tipped that Samsung was concerned about the confusion between the Note 5 and larger S6 Edge that would have made Samsung increase the size of the former. As the device is slated to be launched in the next quarter, we can get to know a clear picture of it in the coming weeks.
