Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has received two major OS upgrades following its debut with Lollipop back in 2015. With that said, there won’t be another OS upgrade for the S6 Active, including the latest Android 9 Pie update. For fans of custom ROMs, there isn’t so much out there, so don’t get your hopes high in regards to Pie ROMs.

The Galaxy S6 Active has reached its EOL as far as major software updates are concerned, which is why we do not expect Samsung to roll out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the device.

We expect Samsung to keep rolling out the security patches on a monthly basis as an OTA.

While in case you were hoping for the Android 8.0 update via a custom ROM, well we don’t think that’s gonna happen either. We don’t think there will be a Galaxy S6 Active LineageOS 15.0 ROM, or any other Android 8.0 ROM, would become available anytime soon.
