The Galaxy S3 Mini finally has a confirmed release date in the UK, thanks to Samsung’s announcement earlier this week, UK retailers Phone4U and Clove UK had already started accepting pre-orders a few days ago, and Clove UK had priced the Mini at £298 (including VAT) price for the SIM-free, unlocked model. Phones4U on the other hand, had listed the S3 Mini as available from free on £25 a month contracts on a choice of networks

Now we have a third major retailer, Carphone Warehouse, who has released  its pricing for the Galaxy S3 Mini, and unsurprisingly, it is more or less in line with what is being offered elsewhere in the UK. CPW will be selling the SIM-free version for “under £300”,   and if you want to go with a plan-based option – you can get the phone for free on-contract with as low as £25 monthly.

With the Nexus 4 descending on November 13th, for more or less the same SIM-free price, it would be interesting to see what people go for.  That said, the Galaxy S3 Mini is an excellent device for those looking for a reasonably powerful phone with a compact form factor. Here are the official specs of the Galaxy S3 Mini for your reference –

  • 4.0” WVGA Super AMOLED screen
  • 5MP+ LED Flash camera
  • 1GHz NovaThor Dual-Core processor
  • 8GB internal memory / Expandable microSD 32 GB
  • 1500mAh battery life
  • Android version 4.1 (Jelly Bean)

So there you have it; and now that you do, are you planning to go for it, or wait for a few more days and check out the Nexus 4?
