Our pals at Blue Ringer Men have posted another gem today. It appears some more information has been uncovered about a new Samsung manufactured foldable dual-screen tablet, purportedly called the Galaxy Q Smartbook, model number GT-B9150, which is in the works. The GT-B9150 had appeared in GLBenchmark results earlier, and was said to have a Qwerty keyboard, though the new information does not make any mention of that.

Leaked information suggests that this device would be equipped with Samsung’s dual-core Exynos 5250 chip, also said to be used in the upcoming Nexus 10 tablet. The resolution of 1280 x 720 does not seem usual for a standard tablet, but then, this does not be to be a standard tablet, does it? Available information indicates the following key specs:

  • Exynos 5250 1.7Ghz Dual Core CPU
  • Mali T604 GPU
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 5-8 inches 1280 × 720 HD AMOLED foldable dual display
  • 8 MP Main  Camera / 2 MP Front-facing camera
  • Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean

The presence of the Exynos 5250 SoC along with an equally powerful GPU indicates what can be termed as an Ultra-High performance device. The foldable dual-screen display does sound quite different from what Samsung has traditionally put out as far as its tablets or hybrids go. While nothing is confirmed as yet, the Samsung Galaxy Q Smartbook sure sounds like an interesting device, and very different from the current crop of devices.
