Ever since Google started using the USB Type-C interface in its notebooks, the interface has become the recent trend and many manufacturers are choosing to implement the same in their offerings.
Lately, LeTV that is a video streaming firm based in China came up with three smartphones with the USB Type-C ports. These are the first smartphones to feature the new ports. Also, Google announced that the Android M will support the new interface.
Now, it seems like the South Korean tech giant Samsung will come up with these ports in its upcoming devices. As per a Korean source, Samsung will be using the USB 3.1 Type-C port in the Galaxy Note 5. If this report turns out to be authentic, the Galaxy Note 5 will be able to send files up to 10 Gbps speed. It will also feature updated Power Delivery that will allow the handset to negotiate up to 100W of power.
The highlight of the USB Type-C connector is its reversible design. The users will not have to worry about the way the cable is connected as both ends are the same. This standard lets transfer of video, audio and power in both the directions. Also, it facilitates in quick charging of the devices based on the implementation by the manufacturer.
The source claims the citing from several Samsung employees and industry insiders and suggests that the Galaxy Note 5 will not include a 4K display as it was speculated by the earlier reports. The phablet is likely to include UFS 2.0 Flash memory that was seen in the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
The website also claims that the display of the upcoming Note phablet will be 5.89 inches. The device is rumored to measure 7.9 mm in thickness. The other aspects of the Galaxy Note 5 as tipped by earlier reports include a 4,100 mAh battery and an upgraded version of the Exynos 7420 chipset dubbed Exynos 7422.
