Samsung has announced the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus at its annual Galaxy Unpacked event in New York, tonight. As revealed by countless leaks and renders over the last couple of months, the device packs top-of-the-line hard inside a jaw-dropping exterior, carrying a starting price of $949.
Breaking down the specs, the standard Galaxy Note 10 features a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity display with Full HD+ resolution (1080×2280 pixels) with a hole-punch camera in the middle. Note 10 Plus, on the other hand, gets a larger panel that’s sized 6.8-inches and also improves the resolution to Quad HD+ (1440×3040 pixels).
The famed S Pen now supports Air Gestures, which allows you to carry out tasks, such as taking remote pictures, switching between lenses, changing songs, converting handwriting to text, and more without laying a finger on your Note 10.
The Note 10 Plus comes with a beefier 4,300mAh battery while Note 10 packs a relatively meek 3,500mAh unit. Both devices support Superfast Charge, which, according to Samsung, gets you “hours of juice from minutes of charge time.”
As for the dimensions, the Galaxy Note 10 measures 71.8 x 151.0 x 7.9 mm and weighs 168 grams, however, the larger Note 10 Plus comes out as 77.2 x 162.3 x 7.9 mm, and weighs a bit heavy too naturally, standing at 196 grams.
Both the Note 10 sets are powered by Samsung’s newly-launched Exynos 9825 chipset globally while housing the Snapdragon 855 for the US markets. While the Note 10 packs in 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for the starting model, the Plus variant takes it up a notch high with 12GB of RAM while retaining the storage capacity at 256GB.
The Galaxy S10 came with three pretty impressive camera lenses at the back. Note 10 aims to take the smartphone camera scene to a whole new level by introducing Pro Lenses, which, as per Samsung, will deliver best-in-class landscape, portrait, and close-up shots. The Note 10 features 3 cameras at the back, a primary 12MP camera, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens, and it has a single 10MP selfie shooter at the front, right in the center.
Sound recording has also been improved, thanks to three Audio Zoom microphones, making the Note 10 the only Samsung device to have such potential.
The standard Galaxy Note 10 has a starting price tag of $949, while the bigger and bolder Note 10+ kicks off at $1099.
It was rumored earlier that the Galaxy Note 10 sets might get IP69 rating but it seems that wasn’t the case. The Galaxy Note 10 and Note Plus come with IP68 rating only.
