UPDATE:

Well, it turns out this was a fake listing, or an erroneous one, but the thing is that these rumors and specs discussed below are NOT entirely true. The listing has been pulled now at Amazon, anyway. And we will have to wait for Samsung to make an official announcement to know of the spec-sheet of one the hottest upcoming tablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1. Oh btw, it is actually a great thing because we were left kind of unimpressed by the $549 tag, especially when it lacked a good high-res display or an AMOLED one to make things interesting — the awesome S-Pen notwithstanding. So, let’s all wait and see what Sammy has in stores for us. Will keep you updated on this.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is now available for pre-order at Amazon. There is no announcement or even a hint of that from Samsung about the release date, or the official specs, yet, but the listing has it that it would be shipped in some 3 to 5 weeks time from today. Not bad, but more interesting is the fact that it pretty much confirms the specs of the Galaxy Note 10.1, which is sure to have a new and improved stylus S-Pen.

Even though we already knew about these specs in their rumored form for long now, the listing confirms the existence of a 1.4GHz Quad-Core processor. It’s actually listed as Xeon processor, but we obviously know that it’s the Samsung-made Exynos processor, one that powers the Galaxy S3 too.

Other than that, the listing confirms the S-Pen, Android 4.0 ice Cream Sandwich, 1GB RAM, 32GB storage, weight: 1.28 pounds (544 grams), display size: 10.1 inches (diagonally), WiFi (no 3G with this one, at least) and thickness of 0.35 inches, that is, 8.89 mm.

Oh, it’s priced $549 at Amazon – yes, it’s pretty much on higher side but since it’s not an official price, at least yet, let’s hope Samsung brings it down to around $449, which is more realistic, the S-Pen notwithstanding. You know, it lacks the iPad-ish high-res display, and isn’t gotten Amoled display yet which alone could have changed things significantly.

We think an official announcement from Samsung is very near. We would be sure to update you with it, so stay with us.
