Details of the 5.8-inch Galaxy Mega 5.8 were leaked today, and if that gargantuan screen size isn’t enough for you, then maybe the Galaxy Mega 6.3 will be the one for you. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 is to be the other option in the “Mega” series, and some of its specs have also leaked.
The 6.3″ display is a PLS LCD unit of 720p (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution, and while the pixel density will be as poor as the Mega 5.8’s, we should at least see better image quality thanks to the PLS technology of the display. There is reportedly both a LTE and non-LTE variant of the Galaxy Mega 6.8 (GT-I9200 and GT-I9205), so we can expect this one to be available in the US unlike its smaller-sized sibling.
The device is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, comes with an 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity, a 3,200 mAh battery, and either Android 4.1 or 4.2 with Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UX. The dimensions are 88×167.6×7.9mm, making it as thin as the flagship Galaxy S4.
Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy Mega 6.3 in “week 20″ this year, in white and black colour variants. Of course, nothing is confirmed yet, so we’ll have to wait till the official announcement of the Galaxy Mega range before we can arrive at any conclusion. One thing is certain though: Samsung is using every dollar in its wallet to flood the market with devices of every size and proportion, without an end in sight.
So, 5.8 or 6.3”? Which one rocks your boat better?
