Samsung plans to release upcoming J3 2017 smartphone with Android Nougat on board. And this should happen much sooner than later, as the device with Android 7.0 Nougat OS on board has cleared WiFi Alliance certification.
Samsung will release the 2017 iteration of the Galaxy J3 very soon in several variants- unlocked, AT&T and T-Mobile, as per the WiFi listing. Devices with model numbers SM-J327T, SM-J327U, SM-J327A, SM-J327TAZ have been spotted on the certification sites. As SM-J327 stands for Galaxy J3 2017 and T, U, A signify T-Mobile, Unlocked and AT&T, we can infer that the J3 2017 will enter the markets in all these versions.
The Galaxy J3 2017 is an upgraded version of its predecessor J3 2016 which was launched with Android Lollipop on board. But other than the OS, other specs remain the same.
A 5-inch display will grace the body of J3 2017 same as J3 2016. Both devices pack in 1.5GB RAM. While J3 2017 sports 16GB internal storage, its predecessor had 8GB storage. The upcoming phone will be powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 processor. On the camera section, however, it gets a downer with a 5-megapixel rear snapper and 2-megapixel front shooter while J3 2016 featured 8-megapixel back camera and 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

All in all, other than the OS, Samsung doesn’t bring much improvements in the internal hardware assortment of J3 2017 as compared to J3 2016. It seems as if Samsung wants to play the gamble of introducing a new smartphone based solely on its software. Whether this will click well with the consumers or not, time stands to be the true judge.
