The Samsung Galaxy Camera was released in the US though AT&T about two weeks ago. The Jelly Bean 4.1 based shooter was compatible with AT&T’s high-speed HSPA+ network. Users who were hoping for an LTE enabled version were disappointed at that time.

It turns out now that the Samsung Galaxy Camera has made another visit to the FCC corridors, albeit this time, under a different model number — EK-GC120. The good news though is that this new variant of the Galaxy Camera is said to be featuring LTE support in the US, and that it is compatible with Verizon’s 700 MHz spectrum. Any guesses where this new variant is headed?

Looks like the only thing remaining is an official release by Verizon, as this LTE enabled variant is clearly headed to Big Red. There has been no official (or unofficial either) comment from Verizon insofar, nor is there any information available on suggested, or speculated pricing.

Other than the specification of the LTE band, the FCC filing does not indicate any other changes for this device from it’s At&T cousin, and it continues to sport a 16MP backside illuminated CMOS sensor, 21x optical zoom, a 4.8-inch 1280×720 touchscreen, and Jelly bean on board.
