The International version of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-powered camera that Samsung is bringing to the masses – the Galaxy Camera – has just shown up at and been cleared by the FCC.
The Galaxy Camera, model number EK-GC100 sports a 16 megapixel camera with 21x Optical zoom and a Xenon flash, with other specs including a 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, 4.8″ super clear LCD display, 8GB storage expandable via microSD slot, 3G/HSPA connectivity (no calls though), WiFi a/n, Bluetooth and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with multiple image editing apps pre-loaded.
This is the second time this device has passed through the FCC channels. The same device, but with a different model number- EK-KC100, meant for the Korean market, had earlier passed FCC certification. While most specs and features would remain largely the same between the Korean and the International version, different FCCIDs for the two devices could indicate some change in specifications.
In any case, based on what we’ve seen in the year gone by, you can’t go wrong with a Samsung Galaxy product, with Android Jelly Bean 4.1 inside. Would you be getting one?
