Our friends in U.S. who are waiting for the Galaxy S 2 to launch at the carrier of their choice now have a reason to celebrate — we just heard Shin Jong-kyun, president of Samsung mobile div, saying that the company is planning to launch its flagship device Galaxy S II in U.S. sometime in August (early or late no idea). Galaxy S II has been a massive hit in other parts of the world, with the sales reaching 3 million units well before the end of 2 months of launch date.
Sadly, no other details were said about the proposed launch: and we’re left guessing which carrier would be launching it first. We’ve already heard the rumors of the S2’s variants at each carrier: Samsung Within at Sprint, Samsung Function at Verizon and Samsung Arrive at AT&T (since T-Mobile will soon join AT&T, I think they left outta all this). Although, we’d say things are moving forward with a better pace now than earlier — in fact, we just saw the Samsung Within’s leaked pic and all this is now combining very well.
But August isn’t much early than September when new iPhone is rumored to launch and thus that gives Samsung only slight advantage in U.S. even though the phone was launched way back in early May in U.K. and gradually world over by June. Anyways, at least those dying to buy a Galaxy S 2 can finally be happy that an official word has finally come out.
Galaxy S II has already won hearts of Android pro users worldwide and is currently heralded as world’s best android phone and that too by miles. Whether it’s 1.2 GHz dual-core Exynos processor or its gorgeous Super AMOLED Plus screen, the S2 is simply unbeatable.
If you are in U.S., you’re also planning one right?
