Samsung has launched its cloud gaming service for Galaxy devices in North America after completing beta testing. The service now operates through the Gaming Hub on Galaxy devices.
Unlike other gaming services, Samsung chose to stream Android games instead of PC or console games. Users can play games instantly without downloading them to their devices.
The service currently offers 23 games including Monopoly Go!, Homescapes, Candy Crush Saga, and Honor of Kings. All games are free to play without any subscription fees.
Games start streaming quickly when selected, though the resolution may be slightly lower than downloaded versions. The service works on various Galaxy devices and adapts to different screen sizes, including the Galaxy Z Fold series.
The beta testing showed good results with half of the users who clicked on games continuing to play them. The service also saw its monthly users more than double compared to the previous year.
This service helps Galaxy device owners who have limited storage or older devices. Users can play games without worrying about their phone's capabilities since Samsung's servers handle the processing.
Samsung plans to let users start games directly from advertisements, though details about this feature are not yet clear.
