Here we go again. Samsung, the company that believes that you can never have too many devices on offer, has officially announced the Galaxy Core, yet another mid-range droid in the sea of Galaxy phones already swarming the market.
The official announcement confirms almost every spec already leaked less than two weeks back, except for the RAM which turns out to be 1GB instead of 768MB RAM as thought earlier. The Galaxy Core has a 4.3″ WVGA (800 x 480) display that is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor of unknown make (though it should be a Broadcom chip like other new mid-range Samsung phones).
There’s also an 5-megapixel rear and a VGA front-facing camera, 8GB storage expandable via microSD slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and HSPA connectivity, and a 1,800mAh battery. On the software front, the Galaxy Core runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, with the customary smart TouchWiz features like Smart Stay, Smart Alert, Motion UI and more.
The Galaxy Core will be available in a dual SIM variant from May, with the single SIM model following in July (market dependent). Pricing details weren’t mentioned.
