Earlier today, Samsung has announced the Galaxy Ace Plus, for its home market South Korea. If you remember the announcement from Samsung back in late September, which listed the devices that would be getting the Jelly Bean update, there was a Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus listed therein, along with a bevy of others.
The successor to the immensely popular budget handset – Samsung Galaxy Ace, finally arrives in South Korea, albeit almost a year later than its release in various other parts of the world. It follows the styling of the Galaxy M, another mid-range handset which was released earlier this year, and will be available for purchase directly from retailers without any contractual commitments to carriers.
The Galaxy Ace Plus is priced at 200,000 won ($184), and the spec list reads as follows:
- 3.65 inches HVGA LCD display – 320 x 480 resolution
- Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS
- Qualcomm S1 MSM7227A Cortex A5 processor
- Adreno 200 GPU
- 3 Gb internal memory / expandable microSD slot
- 5 MP Rear camera
- WiFi / Bluetooth 3.0
- 1300 mAh battery
Given the popularity that the original Galaxy Ace commanded globally, and that attractive sub-$200 contract-free pricing, it wouldn’t be surprising that a lot of folks down in South Korea would be only too happy to get one.
