Verizon recently rolled out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its HTC One M9 variant. The update came with software version 3.37.605.7 and with added security features from the freshest release of Android that rooting became a bit of a trouble.
But thanks to santod040 over at xda, if you’re looking for a neat way to root your Verizon M9 on Marshmallow, you now have pre-rooted stock Marshmallow ROM for your device baked in both Odexed and De-Odexed versions.
The rooted Verizon M9 Marshmallow ROM requires you to install the official Marshmallow first, and then install the pre-rooted ROM via TWRP recovery. Take a look at prerequisites below:
- S-Off
- 3.37.605.7 firmware
- TWRP 3.0.0+
Also, for your convenience, the pre-rooted ROM also removes No Red Text from boot screen and gets you Faux locked Aboots.
You can grab the rooted Verizon M9 Marshmallow stock ROM (3.37.605.7) from the download link below and simply flash using TWRP 3.0.0 recovery with “factory reset + wipe cache/dalvik cache”.
