There’s no easy way to root Xperia Z5 other than unlocking the bootloader and have SuperSU installed via TWRP recovery. However, unlocking the bootloader has its ups and downs on Sony devices, like you lose functions like X-Reality engine, Sony app updates, etc as a result of losing DRM keys due to bootloader unlock.
Unlocking bootloader on a Sony device wipes the masterkey in TA unit and hence makes all Sony credentials inaccessible. And unfortunately, there’s no way to restore the DRM keys once they are wiped.
But thanks to tobias.waldvogel over at xda, you can now simulate the Sony credentials and have the lost functionality restored on your bootloader unlocked Xperia Z5 with a simple MOD flashed via TWRP.
Grab the Xperia Z5 DRM restore MOD from the download link below and simply and flash the zip via TWRP recovery on the device.
