Promised Light location

The Promised Light takes you across Sundara Lands, a quiet temple path, and finally the battlefield in the Thousand Buddha's Cavern where Tian Ying awaits. Each zone flows linearly, so you can follow the quest marker directly—no hidden routes or detours required.

Here is how you can complete the Promised Light lost chapter quest in Where Winds Meet:

Step 1: Reach Buddha's Light Pagoda

Start at Halo's Peak in Sundara Land and make your way to the Buddha's Light Pagoda.

Step 2: Place Buddha's Light Jade

Make sure to reach the Pagoda at the Wu hour of the day. Place the Light Jade at the tower top.

To reach the tower top, use Wind Sense and Wallstride Swiftstride.

Step 3: Explore the Pagoda from inside

Go around the hall and find a button that opens the mystery floor into a lower ground. Enter the mystery area beneath the Pagoda.

Step 4: Solve Buddha Statue Mirror Puzzle 1

The Bronze Buddha statue must be rotated 1 time counterclockwise or 3 times clockwise using the Meridian Touch skill to open a route to another passage inside the Buddha's Cavern.

Rotate statues in this order:

  • 1st statue 1 time clockwise
  • 2nd statue 3 times clockwise
  • 3rd statue 3 times counterclockwise or 4 times clockwise
  • 4th statue 3 times counterclockwise
  • 5th statue adjusts according to the hole on the wall

Step 6: Find a way up

As you land on the pedestal, it pushes you deeper into the ground. Here fight with the mechanical puppets and find a way to the upper level.

Step 7: Find the first door

To get out of the lower ground area, find a door on the back side of the hall. Make your way outside.

Step 8: Find the second door

The first door opens into a new area of mechanical puppets. Defeat them all and run straight to the final door that leads to the Miaoshan fight area.

Step 9: Enter the Thousand Buddha's Cavern

Make your way into the depths of the Cavern safely before the time runs out. Make sure to be quick, otherwise you have to begin from the start point again and again.

Step 10: Find Miaoshan's Arena

Unlock Buddha's Cavern Boundary Stone and complete a quick statue puzzle by rotating it twice clockwise, a door opens which leads you to Tian Ying's arena.

Step 11: Fight and defeat Miaoshan

After gathering all clues, the quest directs you toward a narrow pass leading to an abandoned temple area. The final stage is a one-on-one duel that tests your precision. Tian Ying’s combat style blends fast strikes with punishing if you mistime your responses.

Step 12: Escape the waters

After the cutscene, you are underwater, escape and find land.

Step 13: Reach Thousand Buddha Village

You find Thousand Buddha Village and the next stop is the Floral Expanse Beyond, where you complete Halo Peak.

Step 14: Complete the quest

Reaching the Floral Expanse Beyond in Sundara Land triggers a cutscene, which marks the ending of the Promised Light quest and also the Final Chapter of Jianghu's Legacy. It also completes the Halo Peak Campaign.
