A few days back, Gionee announced that it will introduce a new smartphone dubbed Gionee M5 with two batteries that is a pretty rare one. At that time, Gionee did not reveal much about the smartphone, but the Telecom Equipment Certification Center of China, TENAA has listed most of the features of the smartphone.
Going by the listing, the Gionee M5 is likely to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and it seems to be a mid-range device. The smartphone is listed to boast of a 5.5 inch AMOLED display with HD 720p resolution and employ a 1.3 GHz quad core processor teamed up with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of native storage space that can be further expanded.
For imaging, the Gionee M5 might make use of an 8 MP main snapper accompanied by LED flash and a 5 MP front facing selfie shooter. The listing shows that the device measures 152 x 76 x 8.6 mm in dimensions and 213 grams in weight. The Gionee M5 seems to be a bit hefty, but it is acceptable as the device utilizes two batteries.
Though the Gionee M5 is a rare smartphone with two batteries, it is not the only to be launched in this segment as the Innos D6000 unveiled at the MWC 2015 also has two batteries. The major difference is that the Innos offering runs on Android KitKat, whereas the Goinee phone will be fueled by Lollipop.
The Gionee M5 appears to be an impressive smartphone and we need to wait to know when Gionee will launch this device.
