What to know

  • Magnemite only appears after completing all bundles in the Withered Wastelands story area.
  • You must build the Factory Storage habitat to permanently attract Magnemite.
  • Habitat materials include a Control Unit, Jumbled Cords, Metal Drum, and Streetlight.
  • Catching Magnemite unlocks the Magnet Rise ability, which allows hovering movement.

Magnemite is one of the more unique Pokémon you can obtain in Pokémon Pokopia, and unlocking it requires a mix of story progression, exploration, and crafting. Unlike some Pokémon that appear naturally during exploration, Magnemite only begins appearing after you reach a certain point in the game’s progression. Once that condition is met, you must gather several mechanical components and construct a specialized habitat that resembles a small industrial storage setup. When the habitat is assembled correctly, Magnemite will spawn and can be obtained, granting you access to the Magnet Rise ability.

Where to find Magnemite materials in Pokopia

Before you can build Magnemite’s habitat, you must explore several regions to gather the required components. The most important location for these materials is Sparkling Skylands, a zone filled with machinery fragments and technological debris scattered around the floating islands.

Control Units and Jumbled Cords appear throughout this region and are usually found near clusters of mechanical objects or near abandoned equipment. Metal Drums can also be found nearby, typically placed close to the same machinery structures where Control Units appear. Streetlights are far easier to find because they can spawn in multiple regions across Pokopia, meaning you can gather one during normal exploration if you keep an eye out.

Once you collect all four materials, you must return to the location where Magnemite originally appeared to construct its habitat.

Factory storage habitat explained

Habitat ComponentPurpose
StreetlightAdds electrical infrastructure to attract Electric-type Pokémon
Metal DrumRepresents industrial storage elements
Control UnitServes as the main technological component
Jumbled CordsSimulates exposed wiring that attracts Magnemite

The Factory Storage habitat is designed to resemble a small industrial power setup. Magnemite is naturally drawn to environments with exposed electricity and machinery, which is why the habitat requires these specific components.

When all items are assembled in the correct location, the habitat becomes active and Magnemite will start appearing around it.

After obtaining Magnemite, you gain access to the Magnet Rise ability, which introduces a new movement mechanic. This ability allows your character to hover slightly above the ground while traveling through the environment.

While hovering, you can control your vertical position using directional inputs. This mechanic makes it easier to navigate certain terrain, avoid hazards, and reach elevated platforms that were previously inaccessible.

Magnet Rise becomes particularly useful in areas with vertical puzzles or narrow paths, making Magnemite not only a collectible Pokémon but also an important exploration upgrade.
