Gallade is obtained primarily by evolving a male Kirlia using a special item called the Dawn Stone. First, catch or find a Ralts, which evolves into Kirlia at level 20. Once Kirlia reaches level 30, it can evolve into one of two forms: Gardevoir or Gallade. To evolve into Gallade instead of Gardevoir, the Kirlia must be male and you must use a Dawn Stone on it.

The Dawn Stone is a rare item in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and can be acquired by earning Merit Points from Lost Satchel collections or treasure hunting activities and then purchasing it at the Trading Post in Jubilife Village using those Merit Points.

Where to catch Kirlia and Gallade

Wild Kirlia can be found in places like the Shrouded Ruins of the Crimson Mirelands or near Snowpoint Temple and Heart's Crag in the Alabaster Icelands. As for Gallade itself, an Alpha-level Gallade can be found on the second floor of Snowpoint Temple in the Alabaster Icelands. This Alpha Gallade is at level 70 and is much stronger and rarer than those obtained by evolution. While catching this Alpha Gallade is possible, evolving Kirlia remains the straightforward approach for most players.

Additional tips for catching Alpha Gallade

  • The Alpha Gallade in Snowpoint Temple is level 70 and a tough opponent to catch. Using Smoke Bombs to get close, feeding Razz Berries, and throwing Heavy or special Poké Balls at its back is advised.
  • If battling, try to inflict status effects like paralysis to make catching easier.
  • After throwing a Poké Ball, quickly use Smoke Bomb or flee to avoid being detected again if the catch fails.

Gallade's type and strengths

Gallade is a Psychic and Fighting-type Pokémon, effective against Fire and Rock types but weak to Ghost and Dragon moves. It has sharp blades extending from its elbows and is known for impressive swordsmanship despite being mostly self-taught.
