Update [March 29, 2017]: The latest update to Plex (version 5.7.1) brings in a couple of changes and also much required bug fixes. Video quality can now only be changed for the media being played at the time. Other changes include dropping of support for Codec name visibility when using Direct Play.

A few annoying bugs have also been fixed with this update. Tapping the Undo button after removing a Play Queue now works and the Sync action does not go missing when trying to search. In addition to that, the video player now follows the screen rotation lock.

Looks like the folks over at Plex are keen on making their app one of the best for streaming personal media content across all devices you own. Only recently the app received a major upgrade with features like syncing music at original quality, app shortcuts support for Android 7.1.1, ARM64v8a support and more.

And come today, Plex Inc. is pushing out yet another update to Plex for Android app with plenty of minor features for both Android TV and Mobile interfaces of the app.

For Android TV, you get usage statistics preference on the settings screen and an option to hide title for photos in grids. While for Mobile devices, the update brings forgot password link on the sign-in screen for the forgetful folks among us.

The most highlighting feature of the lot is the addition of ‘Play Next’ action in context menu for queued items in playlist. Plex now also shows an improved error message when opening an already deleted item.

It is really good to see the Plex adding new features to the app very frequently. We mean, three updates with a good number of new additions just in a month’s time is not something you get to see very often.
