HTC may be struggling to meet demand for the One (both consumer demand as well as enough units of their new UltraPixel camera), but the company isn’t focusing only on that nor sitting idle on other fronts – a picture of an upcoming mid-rage HTC device codenamed 606w has surfaced online, along with a few specs.
The first thing I noticed was the presence of speakers on the front, dual ones at that like the HTC One, which is an awesome aspect of the latter and hopefully is going to find a place on most HTC devices in the future. Even the navigation button layout is the same – a back and home button on the left and right of the HTC logo. That’s right, no multitasking button here either, something I’m not at all fond of, and it probably isn’t sitting well by many others.
The HTC 606w’s specs are listed as well – a 4.5″ 960 x 540 display, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.6-megapixel front camera, microSD card slot, Beats Audio (see logo at back of device), and Android 4.1.2 should be part of the mid-range package. Not too shabby, but nothing dazzling either, just how mid-end smartphones usually are.
We’ll let you know more about this unnamed HTC device as and when we run across more information. The One may be the one for HTC right now, but we should see an official announcement for the 606w soon after the One’s launch worldwide.
