We know that Facebook has been testing an automatic image upload feature, since September this year. The feature was called Photo Sync and functioned much like Google’s Instant Upload which automatically uploaded images from an Android device to a private album on Google+. Users could later share individual pics or whole albums with individuals or circles as preferred.
Facebook is finally set to roll out Photo Sync, which works more or less the same way as Instant Upload does. Photos captured using your phone camera get automatically uploaded to a private Facebook album, making it easier to share the album with friends or family. None of the uploaded images will be available for public viewing by default, unless the user chooses to make it so.
The Photo Sync feature will be disabled by default, and users would have to go into the Facebook Android app settings to turn it on. Photo Sync capability would be added to the Facebook for Android app via an update, which should land anytime now. Once Photo Sync is enabled, the Photos section in the app will have a separate Synced tab which contains all the images uploaded via this feature.
So keep watching that notification bar for app notifications, and hit the update button as soon as you see one for Facebook.
