When you boot your Android device from a fresh install or after performing a factory reset, Android optimizes the apps installed on it and hence you see the “Android is upgrading” or “Android is starting” screen on your device.
It generally takes a good amount of time for Android to complete this process. It mostly depends on the number of apps you have on your device. However, if it’s taking forever on this process and is stuck at “Android is stating” screen with no progress on optimizing apps, then perhaps you need to fix it.
Fixing “Android is starting” requires you to boot into recovery mode, from where we’ll perform a cache wipe. This clears any previous cache on the device that might be keeping the device from optimizing apps and boot.
How to fix a phone stuck at “Androiding is Starting”
- Power off your phone.
- Boot into recovery mode.
- Select Wipe cache from recovery.
- Reboot device. It should pass the Android is starting screen now.
If in case, wiping the cache doesn’t help, then try doing a factory reset from recovery. But know that factory resetting the phone will wipe all data on your device.
Happy Androiding!
