Approach the cliff by the Grand Canal #3E, where you’ll find a distressed young man attracting a crowd. Interacting with him initiates the Wandering Tale Perfectly Matched.
Walkthrough
Step 1
Reach the Grand Canal #3E cliff, you’ll find a young man, Duan Fangfang, threatening to jump, overwhelmed by sorrow. A crowd has gathered, but no one can calm him down.
Step 2
Talk to the nearby NPCs, and you will learn that he recently had a bitter falling-out with his love, Yu Yuanyuan.
Step 3
Go to the Masterwood Hamlet, and find Yu Yuanyuan. Her disappearance after their argument seems to be the cause of his despair.
Step 4
Locate Yu Yuanyuan on a rooftop. She explains her side of the conflict and gives you a book, asking you to deliver it to Duan Fangfang.
Step 5
Return to the young man and hand him the book. After reading it, the truth comes out: He wasn’t heartbroken over real romance — he was devastated because the fictional couple he supported in a story didn’t get a happy ending.
Step 6
Yu Yuanyuan supported the rival couple, leading to a ridiculous argument that escalated into a “breakup.” The two realize the absurdity of their fight; both their favorite “ships” failed in the story anyway, and the Wandering Tale ends on a comedic note.
