What to know

  • Airport lobby gets festive holiday decorations.
  • Snow covers applicable biomes (no snow in Caldera); snow mounds spawn snowballs for PvP fun.
  • New Steam Points Shop items: animated stickers, frames, backgrounds, and a slick Steam Deck loading screen.
  • Devs taking holiday break; slower updates in 2026 as they juggle multiple studios, but more Peak content promised.

Peak just dropped its winter update, patch 1.50.a, and it's packing some serious holiday vibes. The airport lobby now has festive decorations, but the real fun hits the maps.

Snow has fallen across the map, covering biomes except the Caldera which remains untouched, still blazing hot and completely snow-free, as it should be. Everywhere else is covered in fresh snow, giving the world a fun, festive vibe. The devs also added snow mounds you can interact with to make snowballs.

They didn't stop there. The Steam Points Shop also got a fresh update, bringing in new animated stickers, avatar frames, backgrounds, and a slick new loading screen made specifically for Steam Deck.

After six nonstop months, the teams at Aggro Crab and Landfall are finally slowing things down. They’re taking a holiday break, so there won’t be any new content for the rest of the year. When updates do start rolling out again in 2026, they’ll be coming at a more relaxed pace.

They’ve also been upfront about what Peak is—and isn’t. It’s not turning into a live-service game, but staying a complete, self-contained experience. With several studios to manage, progress takes time, but this isn’t the end of the road. The team has confirmed there’s more Peak ahead, just without any rush.

Peak Patch Notes: 17 December 2025
