Good times are just around the corner for the original Galaxy Note N7000 users as development for the CyanogenMod 12 a.k.a CM12 ROM begins for the device. CM12 is the Android 5.0 Lollipop based version of the highly popular CyanogenMod ROM.
CM12 will bring Android 5.0 Lollipop to the Galaxy Note N7000, along with all the features for which CyanogenMod ROM is popular for. Like the theme engine and various other advanced customizations for the power users among us.
The original Galaxy Note N7000 isn’t expected to be updated by Samsung to Android 5.0 Lollipop, so the CM12 is your best shot to get the Lollipop release on your Note N7000. In case you don’t know, Android 5.0 Lollipop brings a whole new user interface to the Android operating system, and it’s being called Material design. Other than UI, Android 5.0 Lollipop also brings great new security features and battery life improvements.
The Galaxy Note N7000 CM12 ROM is in development at this time so we wouldn’t recommend you to install it just yet. Even basic things like Mobile network isn’t working on the ROM at this time. However, if your Galaxy Note is just laying around collecting dust, then you may go ahead and install this ROM. But don’t expect it to be your daily driver.
