It seems like Oppo, the Chinese company is planning to launch a new R11 variant called the Oppo R11 Barcelona Edition in its home turf. The company has revealed in a post on Weibo that the new R11 variant will be launched on August 8.
The post also suggests that the R11 Barcelona Edition will come in two new colors — Blue and Red. Oppo claims that this special edition handset will be “the most compelling fashion items” (translated) of this summer.
We will, of course, have to wait until the smartphone is official to see if the company’s claims will anywhere be close to the reality.

If you can recall, a couple of days ago, we told you that the Oppo R11 paid a visit to Geekbench with the Snapdragon 835 SoC onboard. Perhaps, it could be the Barcelona Edition, after all.
The Geekbench listing also revealed that the smartphone will pack 6GB of RAM and run Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box. Well, that’s good news.
At the moment, however, that’s everything we know about the device. We will keep you updated as we learn more details regarding the smartphone.
