At a press event held in Mumbai, Oppo launched the new Oppo F5 smartphone in India. Oppo F5 is the successor to the F3 and F3 Plus. However, unlike them, Oppo F5 bids goodbye to huge bezels.
F5 is the Oppo’s first smartphone that flaunts a full screen 18:9 display. It features a 6.0-inch display with Full HD+(2160 x 1080) resolution. Some other smartphones that have similar 18:9 display include LG G6, LG Q6, Vivo V7+, Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, LG V30 and Micromax Canvas Infinity.

Oppo F5 houses a Helio P23 chip coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM options and 32GB/64GB internal storage options. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB using a micro SD card. Interestingly, the smartphone has ditched hybrid slot and offers 3 slots: 2 for SIM cards and 1 for SD card.
In the camera segment, which is the USP Of Oppo phones, F5 offers a 20MP front camera with bokeh effects and AI tech to enhance the selfies. However, there is no LED flash for the front camera. On the rear side, yo a get 16MP camera with single LED flash.
Other features include a 3,200 mAh battery, Android 7.1 with Oppo’s custom ColorOS system and facial unlock system in addition to the fingerprint sensor, which is present at the back of the device.

The 4GB RAM/32GB internal storage will go on sale from November 9 across online and offline stores. Priced at INR 19,990 and available in gold and black color, Oppo F5 is up for pre-order on Flipkart. The premium variant with 6GB RAM will be available in red and black color in December for INR 24,990.
