The dash charge implementation is one of the key selling points for the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Oneplus, on several occasions, has reiterated the superiority of its ‘Dash Charge’ functionality over Quick charging feature by Qualcomm and guess what, the technology is as good as they say it is.
Unfortunately though, OnePlus’s Dash Car Chargers are yet to catch on to the trend. Although capable of providing a similar level of performance, the car chargers have been out of stock for some time but come April, things are about to change.
OnePlus recently posted on their forum that their production team had run into a ‘manufacturing hitch’ which led them to cease production for the charger, leading to the shortage. The problem has now been ratified and with the mass production now resumed, the Dash Car Chargers should be restocked by the end of April.
The Dash Car Charger produces an output of 3.5A while dash charging and gives a standard 2A output when connected to a regular device or via a normal USB cable. The box already contains a Dash Type-C cable which is a definite plus point. The car charger sells for an approximate $35 and is only available in black color.
