There’s a new update rolling out to the OnePlus 6 with OxygenOS 5.1.11, which is a stable release. The update, like any other minor update, comes with fixes for issues in the previous update alongside a bunch of performance improvements and system optimizations.
Here’s the official changelog:
- A fix for screen flickering issue in daylight
- Improved HDR mode in the camera
- Optimized network connection and Wi-Fi stability
- Confirm pin without tapping ✓(Setting > Security & lock > PIN)
- General bug fixes and improvements
We haven’t seen any of the screen flickering issues on our in-house OnePlus 6 unit, but a lot has been said about this issue. If affected, make sure you grab this update right away. Another item that is of importance in the new update is the improved HDR mode in the camera, although there’s still no clear mention of what exactly will be changing.

The new OxygenOS 5.1.11 is airborne, meaning it may take several days before all OnePlus 6 users get the download notification. Once the download pages are updated with the links, you should also be able to grab them and do a manual installation rather than wait for the OTA.
OnePlus is also expected to roll out Android Pie update to the OnePlus 6 in the coming days or weeks having trialed the OS on the device since its release in May 2018.
