Update [December 22, 2016]: You can now download the Android 7.0 Nougat update for OnePlus 3T, as the update just showed up on the web out of nowhere today, and is available as OxygenOS OS 4.0.0.

Original article → OnePlus today announced its latest set, the OnePlus 3T, which was a subject of much speculation for the last few weeks. But while the improvements it brought are quite classy at its $430 pricing, it’s shipping with Android 6.0 when many hoped for Android 7.0 Nougat to come pre-installed with the OP3T.

So it’s only a good thing that OnePlus took care of this I’m the announcement post itself. According to them, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T will get same attention as to software updates, and both of them are in contention for the December 2016 release for Android 7.0 Nougat update. Sorry, if you were hoping for Android 7.1, that’s hoping too much really.

Many OnePlus 3 users would be delighted to know this, as one could be forgiven to think that after the release of an improved model, the company wouldn’t pay as much attention to their OP3 as it should, or would if there wasn’t anything called OnePlus 3T.

We had already got the wind of the December 2016 release for OnePlus 3 BTW, and the rumor also adds that a community beta of the OnePlus 3 Nougat is to be out soon, before the November end.

Nougat beta updates are in full swing right now, BTW, as we’ve seen them in some good lots, with Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Honor 8, Moto G4, Moto Z droid, Sony X Performance and Xperia X all benefitting from it.
