Lately, a lot of OnePlus 3s and 3Ts have been plagued by a bug which caused the screen to flicker. This issue was especially predominant for Indian users. Though OnePlus does provide fairly stable ROMs for ensuring daily usage, a couple of bugs or issues sometimes persist in the system. The release of Android 7.1.1 based OxygenOS 4.1.4 completely irons out this bug bringing your device back to normalcy.
This update should also include other minor under-the-hood performance improvements and system optimizations which enhances the overall user experience. The previous update was OxygenOS 4.1.3 and took camera performance up a notch and dealt with a few bugs in Instagram too. This update was released in early April and the jump to OOS 4.1.4 has only been a Hotfix so far.

Hopefully OnePlus will release a complete update package for the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T soon, taking both devices to Android 7.1.2.
If you haven’t received the update yet, try checking manually in Settings » About » Software update. It usually takes a week or two to fully roll out the update and the OEM does so in incremental batches. In the meantime, the Beta updates for OxygenOS have been coming along strong for both OnePlus 3 and 3T.
