The 2010 action-adventure Western classic Red Dead Redemption, developed by Rockstar Games and originally launched on PS3 and Xbox 360, has been ported to nearly every contemporary gaming platform as of December 2025.
On mobile, the game lands for the first time via Netflix Games, meaning subscribers on iOS or Android can download and play the full game, including the Undead Nightmare expansion, without extra cost, and without ads or in-app purchases. The mobile version features controls re-designed for touch screens and optimizations for handheld devices.

For console players, this release offers significant upgrades. On PS5 and Xbox Series, expect smoother performance at 60 frames per second, up to 4K resolution, HDR support, and sharper visuals. The Nintendo Switch 2 version also benefits from 60 FPS gameplay, DLSS support and mouse controls, making for a modernized Wild West experience on the hybrid handheld/new-gen device.
Importantly, these updated versions include the full single-player campaign and the standalone expansion Undead Nightmare, delivering all the content from the original and GOTY editions. Save data reportedly carries over for players upgrading from older versions.
This multi-platform rollout, mobile, streaming-app, and next-gen consoles, marks one of the most expansive re-releases for a legacy game. It opens the door for a broad new audience to experience the gritty frontier story of outlaw-turned-reluctant lawman John Marston on the platform of their choice: smartphone, handheld hybrid, or top-tier console.
