We have been telling you that we can expect the Galaxy S6 Active soon. Now, there is concrete evidence for the same as the device has gone live on the official US website of Samsung. However, the page has been taken down.

Lately, the renders of the Galaxy S6 Active were leaked showing the smartphone in new colors. Now, the official details of the smartphone have been revealed by the Samsung website. As expected, the handset was listed on the official Samsung US website with the AT&T branding.

On the hardware front, the Galaxy S6 Active is similar to the Galaxy S6. The device will arrive with a 5.1 Quad HD Super AMOLED display and utilize an octa core Exynos 7420 SoC teamed up with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of non-expandable native storage space.

There will be a 16 MP rear snapper on the Galaxy S6 Active along with a 5 MP front facing selfie shooter. The device will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. It will be dust and water resistant with the IP68 rating. Also, the Active variant of the Galaxy S6 will make use of a 3,500 mAh battery instead of the 2,550 mAh unit.

The Galaxy S6 Active will feature an Active key as in the Galaxy S5 Active. This key will let the users access the Activity Zone, click snaps and perform other activities. The camera of the device is given a dedicated shooting mode that can click snaps even under water.
