We knew Google was going to reveal Stadia’s release date, pricing, and game selection details on June 6th and indeed, we now have this info with us.
Google says Stadia will be available in November 2019, but pre-orders for the special Founder’s Edition are live.
Google Stadia release date
Google Stadia launches in the U.S., Canada, and the UK on November 14, 2019. On this very day, the game streaming service will also go live in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden.
In 2020, Google will expand Stadia services to more countries as well as launch a free version of the service called Stadia Base.
Google Stadia pricing
Speaking of free, this is only true for Stadia Base. This model is available to people who have a certain game(s) they want to buy and play on any compatible device. By a compatible device, it means anything that can run the Google Chrome browser, the entire Google Pixel 3 series, or even a Chromecast dongle attached to an HDTV.
As for Stadia Pro service, it comes with subscription and purchased games. Monthly subscription will cost $9.99 per month and include access to Stadia games, including new titles and others you wish to purchase. These games can be enjoyed in 4K resolution and 60fps at download speeds of 35Mbps as compared to the maxed out 1080p (at 10Mbps) you get on the base service.
The Founder’s Edition costs $129 on the Google Store and includes a limited-edition night blue Stadia Controller, a Chromecast Ultra, two 3-month free subscriptions, and a copy of Destiny 2. Additional controllers cost $69 and they can be had in Just Black, Clearly White, and Wasabi colors.
