It appears that HMD Global is currently working on a low-end Android Nougat smartphone codenamed ‘Heart.’
It seems that Nokia Heart will be powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor, clocked at 1.4 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. Round that off with a 5.2″ 720p screen and 12 MP back camera with autofocus and face detection and we have low-end device which has the potential to be quite competitive in entry-level smartphone segment.
A lot will also depend on how the Finnish company decides to go with the pricing of Nokia Heart but considering the brand’s popularity in certain markets, they will certainly hope the device to fare well against the plethora of cheap Chinese devices.
Taking Nokia 6’s price of 1699 yuan (around $245), which packs in pretty good hardware except for the mediocre processor in Snapdragon 430, the same one as mentioned above for Nokia Heart, we think Nokia would be hitting $100-150 price segment with the Heart.
Would it have your heart set over it if the Nokia Heart it comes asking as $120?
Oh BTW, if you thought Nokia was getting all about budget phones, do know that they have a Snapdragon 835 processor toting phone in plans too, possibly the Nokia P1.
