Update (Dec 26, 2016): The device shown in image above could be Nokia E1, not a D1C variant. The confirmation comes from a leaked firmware build of the device. Check the screenshot below:

Nokia has been long rumored to be working on Android smartphones that will compete with the likes of devices OnePlus is making. It’s has been said that the company’s upcoming flagship phone will be coming in two variants, one for the mid-range market and the other for high-end (flagship killer) range of devices.

Apparently, the mid-range Nokia D1C just got leaked in a first real life images from a lab or production site in China.

The Chinese source also revealed specs for the budget variant of Nokia D1C. As per the leak, the device will feature a Snapdragon 600 series processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB as a minimum storage option.

Nokia D1C will also feature the latest version of Android — Android 7.0 Nouggat — out of the box. We don’t have any information on whether the device will run stock Android or a modified UI from Nokia, but knowing Nokia we believe they’ll be customizing the stock Android quite a bit.

The Chinese source have also revealed design sketches for both variants of Nokia D1C. And it clearly tells the design difference between the two. In the sketches, the high-end Nokia D1C seems to feature a fingerprint sensor on the front, while the mid-ranger is missing it, both in the sketch and the real life image above.

If Nokia is indeed coming a mid-range device with no fingerprint sensor, it’ll be less likely compete with other phones on the market. We hope the final design of the device feature a fingerprint sensor on both variants of the device, preferably on the back.

The rumors around Nokia D1C also has it that the phone will be officially announced at CES in January 2017.
