The Nokia 9 PureView is the first device to be launched with 5 rear cameras which is absolutely insane. Back in the days, Nokia had some incredible smartphone camera tech and it seems the now HMD Global controlled OEM is back with the heat.

Nokia launched the Nokia 9 PureView last week at MWC and users who’ve managed to grab the Nokia 9 PureView already are in for a treat since the device is already receiving its first update.

Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, Juho Sarvikas, posted a tweet claiming that the new update “has ton of updates on image quality tuning.”

It seems the Penta camera setup packing smartphone is ready to take on the Galaxy flagships and Huawei flagships head-on. The update also brings along the much awaited Face Unlock feature on the Nokia 9 PureView as per XDA. The TrulySecure face unlock authentication method is quite secure; however, you won’t be able to use that to authenticate payments.

The update also brings along the February Android security patch. The update changelog does not mention the improvements to the camera/image quality so we’re unsure if there are any major improvements to the image quality on the device after the update.
