After a long time, Nokia announced a smartphone, which is also their first Android powered phone, called the Nokia 6 recently in China. Now, the device has appeared on TENAA listing with the model number TA-1000.
The Nokia 6 is a mid-range smartphone launched by HMD Global, which owns the rights to Nokia brand name. The smartphone will be available for purchase in China via JD.com. It is supposed to be released in the month of February.
This is the first smartphone with the Nokia brand to feature an all-metal body, which gives it a very premium look. However, this is a mid-range smartphone with a Snapdragon 430 processor on board. It has a 5.5 inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM, a 16MP rear camera, 3000mAh battery and comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
HMD has priced the Nokia 6 at 1699 yuan in China, which equals to about $245. For that price, you can get similar or better equipped devices from other Chinese brands. HMD is definitely betting on the brand image to help sell the device. This is a good start for Nokia, at least in the design department.
